This annual meeting is a unique opportunity to gather together the lightsource community in a single scientific event that includes numerous presentations in plenary, poster and parallel sessions. Participants are able to learn about current/future facility capabilities and the latest user research as well as to discuss science with colleagues from academia, research laboratories, and industry worldwide.
The conference will include plenary sessions in the mornings and several focused workshops* including:
- Metals in Structural Biology
- Catalysis by Single Metal Atoms: What is all the fuss about?
- High-Pressure Materials, Energy, and Environmental Sciences using SSRL and LCLS
- LCLS-II Early Science
- Machine Learning for X-ray Science: From machine optimization to experimental planning
- Advancing Informational Gain from Synchrotron Techniques in Subsurface Science
- Defects and Interfaces in Batteries Probed by Synchrotron X-ray Techniques
- Computational Workflows for X-ray Science
- User-Focused Beam Line Control and Monitoring for X-ray Science
- Dynamic-Phenomena Revealed by Non-Linear Optical Spectroscopy
- Gas Phase Chemistry from Femto- to Attosecond Physics
- Recent Developments in Sample Delivery and Demonstrations of Common Techniques
- Ultrafast Electron Diffraction (UED)
- Tips to Communicate your Science
- LCLS-II Data Reduction and Data Systems
The September 26 morning plenary session will include a welcome from SLAC Director Chi-Chang Kao, invited talks, young investigator awards, and a poster blitz. The September 27 morning plenary session will include an update by Harriet Kung, DOE BES, facility updates from the LCLS and SSRL Directors, Mike Dunne and Kelly Gaffney, a townhall discussion with facility directors, and invited talks.
Stay tuned for announcements aboutu these awards to be presented during the users' conference.
